I am retiring both of my industrial piercings. I have been thinking about it for a while, well at least the past few months. The jewelry is real worn out from taking them in and out almost every day. That on top of the fact I don't like the look of them anymore. So, here is the last images of them for you to ponder. The right ear is almost 10 years old, and the left is almost 9 years old. Don't worry folks, I still have my labret and nipple piercings.

Well, that is the preliminary name of this little 1x12 speaker cabinet that I finished making this weekend. For the money I spent on this, I probably could have bought the matching cabinet they sell for the Epiphone Valve Jr amp I bought recently. But it was too much fun making it and finding the parts.
Let's see, I spent $30 on tolex and grill cloth, $70 at Lowes on plywood, contact cement, hardware, and miscellaneous parts, and $20 on the corners corners, handle, jack and jack plate. That brings my grand total to $120. That's $10 cheaper than the matching cabinet at guitar center. Enough of my blabbing, check it out.
Well I guess it is more since I didn't count the $20 for the used 8 ohm Fender speaker. So, I guess it comes out even, but looks a lot better I think. Now I just need to finalize a name for it and make a little name plate for it.

Because that is what I have done in the past two weeks. Let's start with last week.
Well, before last week, let us go back even farther, say, 2004. Just before Kuper was born, me and the Mrs. had racked up a nice sizable debt on the trusty old credit card. So, I decided I would see about getting rid of that debt. I did a lot of online research and picked a company that seemed like ti would help me reduce the debt and get it paid off. I get the ball rolling.
After about a year of doing all sorts of paperwork and stuff to keep them from taking me to court, the company send me an offer to pay it off at 52% of what I owe. Good deal? Yes. Did I already have that amount saved? No. I was supposed to save up for about 3 years. Because of that, I had to pay 10%, and then $50 a month until I received another offer. That would keep them from taking me to court, unless my payment was late.
Now back to last week. We got our income tax refund back, and added that to the savings for a grand total of $9875 (roughly). So I decide to call my debt resolution company and told them I had $9000 and wanted to know if it would work. They call the credit card company's collections lawyer, and he comes back with a minimum of $9,258. That's why I told them I only had $9,000. So I paid the "man", and I was then debt free (other than house and car payments).
The next week, Lynda goes and buys a Nintendo Wii. I had no objections. The day after that the hot water heater goes out. Luckily I have a home warranty that covers that. They cover the cost of the heater and installation. What they don't cover is bringing it up to code. Fat sack of shit. What would have only cost me $75 was just multiplied by ten.
And this is how I spent $10,500 in two weeks. At least I can take a hot shower, although cold ones are sort of fun.
