Lynda decided to throw a surprise dinner for me to celebrate my birthday (April 12th). I figured it out about ten minutes before we got there, but let me start at the beginning
Lynda worked Saturday morning, so I was with the kids all day, until around 3:00 PM. When she got home, I got ready and went to pick up my brother Robbie and stop by the store. At the store i ran into Frank and his wife Amanda. We had a quick little chat, and then I was off to the checkout. I got back to the house at around 6:20 PM. Lynda and I left soon after to head to Chili's for dinner, which was supposedly just me and her.
On the way there she called the restaurant to see if the table she reserved was still there. We were only running 40 minutes late, and I was not informed that she had reserved a table which I thought was strange. A moment later she received a call, which was supposedly someone from work. That is the moment she blew it. Anytime someone starts talking weird or in some sort of code as to not let me know what they are talking about usually gives it away.
Once we walked in, I looked over and saw a large table full of people I recognized. I had been had. Lynda had orchestrated a little dinner party to celebrate my birthday. At that point, I knew why she had made a table reservation, and why I happened to see Frank and Amanda at the store - damn spies.
Lynda got me the Chronicles of Narnia. Frank and Amanda got me the Dead Milkmen's Death Rides a Pale Cow and Painkiller - Black PC game. I thought it was funny I got that Dead Milkmen cd, since I had actually thought about getting it a couple of weeks ago. Now I have a game to work my pc out on, and probably get addicted to playing (I actually just got through playing the first level).
I really appreciate Lynda doing the little shindig. No one has really ever had a little party like that for me since I was about 12 or so. I love you Lynda.
