The Status of Quo

I have been feeling a little crappy lately. Most of it has to do with not playing with Quo since July. I guess since the fate of the band is out of any of my control, I might start looking for something else. I felt like I have just been brushed off. Oh well. I don't think I should have to sit around and wait.

LEED

I am currently studying to take the LEED NC test. It is required by my firm as part of employment. I was supposed to have it done within 6 months, but that did not happen. Luckily, there are a lot of people that haven't taken it who have been there longer than me. I just figured I need to take it before they update the reference manual.

I have been trying to update the photo blog at least every week or few days. More than this blog. I have briefly thought about turning the whole site into just a photo blog, but who knows.

I did get my new Epiphone SG replaced, so I am happy about that. I took it over to a friend's house to set it up properly. I have even composed a couple of tunes on it, and started refining others that hopefully I can record soon.

ERG!

This was supposed to be a post about my fancy new Epiphone SG, but now it is about me shipping it back. I ordered the SG Monday night. I have been wanting it for a while. It came in today, so I unpacked it and started enjoying myself.

After about an hour of playing, I slid my hand down to the headstock along the neck. A tiny piece of finish came off into my thumb. I looked closely and noticed there was sort of a line coming off of it. NO!!!! I put a little pressure and revealed a crack.

I called the number on the invoice, and so the ordeal of swapping it with another has begun. They emailed me a shipping label. Now I just need to go to a UPS store and send it off. I would post a picture, but it would just make me sad.

Google..

I was cruising around Instructables, and I noticed my how to on drum refinishing had a list of referrers on it, which I haven't noticed before. Google was listed on it many times. So I went and googled my articles. I put in "how to refinish a drum", and my article came up as the fifth one listed. Sweet!

In other related news, I sold my Fender Stratocaster. I got $300 for it, which is good for a made in Mexico strat. On ebay, they were going for around $200-$275. Now I just need to track down th SG I want. I am hoping I don't have to order one online because I would rather try it out first, but online reviews at Guitar Center give both the ones I am looking at 5 stars. I'll just have to wait and see.

ASS STANCE

If only there was enough time to take a picture. At all the DART stations there are these blue column call stations that you can use to get assistance at the station. All of them read "ASSISTANCE" vertically on the station. Apparently, someone blocked out the "I" at one station. "ASS STANCE" is all that is legible now. It made me laugh.

I am trying to sell my 1993 MIM Fender Stratocaster. If you know anyone interested, tell them to email me. I am wanting to get an Epiphone SG G-400. Guitar Center says they only give about $200 on very clean ones. I paid $485 for mine with the case. I think I can get around $350 selling it myself.

Power!

Yesterday when I got on the DART rail, there was an obese black man in a suit mumbling a little. As soon as the rail started moving, he started preaching. Every time he said "savior" or "power", or something like that, his voice would change and sound like he was fixing to sing. His voice would change quickly back after saying one of those words.

He started getting louder and louder. So, what does a person like myself do in this situation? I switched what I was listening to on my iPod to Slayer's "Reign in Blood" and cranked it up. Good times, good times!
